Lower costs with desktop hard drives

From a manufacturer with over 30 years of experience, Seagate 3TB Internal Hard Drive offers trusted performance, simplicity, and reliability; it satisfies every desktop system need.

You can store as much desktop data as is needed with multiple capacities of up to 8TB. Storing data is also faster with an SATA 6 GB/s interface that is designed to optimize burst performance. You can rest easy knowing that your drive will deliver reliable and top-notch performance with Seagate AcuTrac servo technology.

The Instant Secure Erase feature provides easy, fast, and safe drive retirement. Seagate Secure models ensure that your data remains protected.

(Seagate Secure models are not available across all countries. and the drive may require a TCG-compliant host or controller support.)

The technology

This product has the distinction of being the industry’s first 1 TB-per-disk hard drive. The SATA 6Gb/s equipment ensures maximum performance. DiscWizard free software is also included which enables elevated capacities on legacy BIOS PC systems.

An easy transition

The free software which is included allows Windows machines to employ drives of more than2TB. DiscWizard Seagate gives you a means to efficiently utilize your high-powered hard drive to its full extent.

The product

It’s well known that Seagate Desktop 7200 drives, which come from the world’s premier storage provider, deliver high performance and years of reliable service. This product is the ideal choice for workstations, gaming PCs, desktop RAID, mainstream PCs, high-end PCs, and FireWire/USB/eSATA external storage.

After spending years conducting revolutionary research at Seagate, perpendicular recording has now become an established technology in the manufacture of hard drives. It stores data vertically rather than horizontally thereby increasing the dependability and capacity of storage. Vertically stored data bits also create increased data density which in turn ensures higher performance to increase productivity.

This drive delivers superb power savings without having to sacrifice drive or system performance, thereby giving users the ability to manufacture external storage systems and PC systems that congregate energy saving necessities. The hard drives from Seagate have always been produced keeping environmental concerns in mind, and not just with lower levels of power consumption.

Desktop HDDs are compliant with the US RoHS directive on hazardous materials. Halogen compounds are also voluntarily restricted. More than seventy percent of the materials used to build the product are recyclable.

With this Seagate desktop drive, users can experience the best of both worlds: top-notch hard-drive performance and the satisfaction of knowing that they are using a high-capacity drive which has a very small ecological footprint.

Something you should know

This is a bare drive, which means that cables are not included with the product. You are going to need a SATA data cable (one which is narrow with a ½-inch-wide connector), but the power supply needs a power cable SATA (7/8-inch-wide connector) unless it happens to be an extremely old model, in which case you are going to require an IDE-to-SATA adapter cable.

Reviews

“The best thing about Seagate is that it is totally dependable. I fully trust Seagate, and their customer service-after-sale is absolutely top-notch. No hard disk maker can build flawless drives – they all have to fail sooner or later – but so far I have had good luck with Seagate.

If I had to choose among all the options available, I think I would lean towards Seagate – that’s what led me to buy these drives in the first place, and I’m quite satisfied. Fast, cool, and quiet.” – M Waleed

“The Seagate 3TB Internal Hard Drive is not quite as fast as an SSD but still has very nice speed and gives me an admirable bootup. A tad bit louder than my other 5400rpm drives, but that is normal. The reliability of the drive so far has been quite good (4 months of usage) with no errors, still works quite fast –almost twice as fast as my other regular hard drives (older ones). The noise level is as to be expected.” – Mr. Banks
